Summer – The Best Time of the Year for Outdoor Plants

posted by

The season of shining sun and warm temperatures – summer can be the best time of year to beautify your outdoor plants. Having outdoor plants can serve as a wonderful statement piece to your home or work place. Adding natural light and greenery to your place of interest is aesthetically pleasing and can even moderate hot temperatures in that area. When picking out plants, most people choose perennials, shrubs and small trees, as they are the best at withstanding a range of conditions in high temperatures. One beautiful woody plant that is especially known for fitting in small spaces is the Japanese Maple. This tree’s bark is especially rich in color, and its leaves have a vast color range depending on the season. In summer, these trees give off a coral-red bark color and bright green leaves, serving as a vibrant addition to your outdoor planters.

Another staple to outdoor planters is the Boxwood plant. These shrubs are known to be used in hedges, but, they can also be mixed with different perennials to make a beautiful, and even artistic planter display. There are many different perennials that can be used in summer for outdoor planting. Common perennials are geraniums, hibiscus, lavender and garden phlox, all which, with good care, can last all summer long, keeping your outdoor space vibrant and healthy.
