Best Wedding Flowers By Season

Weddings are beautiful events that are meant to be remembered as one of the greatest moments in a lifetime. Everything is meant to be perfect—including the flower arrangements.  For each season of the year, there are different flowers available to pick from.

Below you’ll be able to see what flowers are available each season, along with common themes to follow.

For Autumn, the trend that is generally followed are flower arrangements with muted green hues. Along with this are pops of common fall colors such as red, purple, orange, and yellow. Flowers that are available in Autumn that can help you accomplish this are Ranunculus flowers, Garden Roses, Cala Lilies, Orchids, Hypericums, Chrysanthemums, and White Lilies. An especially popular arrangement used in the fall season is a beautiful burgundy bouquet with Queen Protea flowers surrounded by eucalyptus, scabiosa flowers, and burgundy ti leaves.

In the winter season, most people look for subtle calm arrangements with white and light green colors, occasionally with pops of red or gold. One popular arrangement that I’ve seen (and a personal favorite), is an arrangement of succulents with white roses. For a “frostier” winter bouquet, look for Dusty Millers, Fern Fronds, or Holly berries. Flowers that complement this arrangement are White Stephanotis and Dendrobium Orchids.

Spring is a popular season for weddings due to its wide arrangement of flowers that come in almost every color you can think of. Popular flowers used for these weddings are Peonies, Cymbidium Orchids, Tulips, Lilies, Magnolia flowers, and Lilacs. Some of these flowers also work wonderfully for a cascading bouquet, but a personal favorite to use is Wisteria.

Similar to spring, as there are many different arrangements possible. Many people opt for a sunset hue of flowers, or white flowers with pops of red and pink, or even blue and purple. Flowers that work for this arrangement are Sunflowers, Daisies, Poppies, Irises, Snapdragons, Lavender, and Marigolds. If you’re looking for tropical foliage to use in your arrangements, galax, papyrus, aralia, areca palms and bamboo work beautifully.
